I'll talk about the less fun stuff first because I gotta vent

The Not Fun Stuff

Not too long ago I got into a bad altercation that shouldn't have happened and walked away with my back and neck being fucked up. Abuse sucks but I'm alive and I'm still pushin'....just have to remain hopeful.

With my back in such disarray and pain killers not killing the pain, I'm not able to sit for quite long. Plus me being confined to a singular and small room I can't get the physical activity I'm used to getting. All playing a part in making it hard for me to just get through drawing something. It took me two days to complete a portrait that would have taken me a couple of hours. Don't get me started on the brain fog.

Hopefully, this isn't a long lasting thing.

The Other News

About that drawing I finished.... I made a piece for a zine that's going to come out sometime soon. It's a drawing of white diamond that's inspired by classic inking styles (i.e. Joseph Clement Coll). I'm quite proud of it though, I wish I did the hatching a little differently for the shoulder piece. Nevertheless, it's pretty nice!

I want to refine my traditional inking skills since I'm quite weak in rendering some things and getting a true hold of my dip pens. If you got good resources or folks to study I wouldn't mind seeing your recommendations.

I've found another person that could possibly help provide resources but it's taking some time. I can't give a definitive yes if they're on board but I'm one step closer to getting there. Also good news about the grant money thingy- They're going to share who gets funds for their projects. Hopefully I get something, even if it's a little bit to give me a jumpstart to my goal.
